Lyric Arts Company Information

Lyric Arts Company of Anoka is a non-profit community theater geared toward entertainment and educational opportunities for people of all ages.

The mission of Lyric Arts is to present music and theater productions and programs in order to promote awareness of, appreciation for, and participation in the performing arts. We accomplish this by providing opportunities for artists and audiences of all ages to experience and celebrate these art forms in their community.

As the only year-round theatre in the northern metropolitan area, Lyric Arts is a unique place for individuals, families, and theatre-lovers of all ages to come together. You can take part in one of our productions or watch your child’s self-confidence grow through his or her participation in one of our workshops. Moreover, you can connect with your friends and neighbors in a safe and fun environment.

In the past year we have seen a full schedule of captivating theatre productions, sold-out acting workshops, and partnerships with community groups. In the coming year, we will expand our workshop program, creating more learning opportunities for middle school and high school age students in the performing arts.  Most importantly we will present another season of exhilarating theatre!

For more information on our shows, see our season calendar. To learn more about educational opportunities, check out the workshops page.

Formed by Lin Schmidt and Phil Bologna in 1995, Lyric Arts Company of Anoka started out in the Pocket Theatre, a small performance space converted from an old cabinet shop.  Lyric Arts outgrew the Pocket Theatre, and opened the 223-seat Main Street Stage in January of 2001.  The Main Street Stage sells approximately 30,000 tickets each year, with a unique mix of comedies, dramas, classics, musicals, and children's productions.  Lyric Arts presents a full season of family friendly programming, as well as theatre workshops, school-day matinees, touring performances, and educational outreach programs.
