I had the pleasure of attending Little Shop of Horrors Saturday night with two of my children. It was a super fun show! The music was executed wonderfully. They’re the kind of songs you find yourself happily singing the next morning.
My favorite part of the show were the technical aspects; the set design was beyond amazing. The plant was great as were some of the lighting choices.

I particularly loved Sarah Wind’s portrayal of Audrey. Everything from her accent, to facial expressions to musical numbers really brought the character to life.
David Ulrich was so entertaining both as the dentist and the miscellaneous characters. I knew he was having a blast, which made it fun for the audience.
All three street urchins were fun to watch. Emily Picardi’s voice is breathtaking. I still remember her performance in Cabaret.

This is a show best suited for teens and up due to some of the themes (violence) and language. But those aspects were balanced well with the more colorful and campy aspects of the show. Audiences can easily come away with a light-hearted feeling or choose to mull over the deeper messages of the character’s motivations.

The timing of this show with Halloween — Anoka’s holiday — is perfect. This is definitely one high-quality not to be missed show!
