Evolution of a Set: Day Thirteen

February 17th, 2010

Day Thirteen: Feb 17, 2010, 11:00 a.m.: It’s almost opening night!  Now that things are flowing, we need to make necessary changes to things that aren’t quite right.  For example, Tech Director Patrick is pictured changing the hardware on the door because it wasn’t appropriate for the time period of the show, which is the 1850s.

  1. Steve Florman, Historical Nitpicker says:

The book was published, and the play is set, in 1837 – the year of Victoria’s accession to the throne of Great Britain.

  2. Erin says:

Make that “Brilliant Historical Nitpicker,” Steve Florman! Right you are sir, but the playwright seems to have been a bit lazy on the first few pages of the script where he writes “About 1850″ as the time. So following suit, that’s what Lyric Arts is quoting. Had we not, we wouldn’t have been able to hear from you!

I only see half the picture. There’s no Patrick there. Maybe it’s my computer. Oh well, I hope Patrick did a good job

  4. Lynda Vital says:

Oh, he just appeared. Never mind!
