All We Want for Christmas – A Word from Lyric Arts’ Artistic & Executive Director

It’s been quite a year! Are you ready for a new one? Lyric Arts is—thanks to you!

Your support has helped make 2016 an incredible year for our “little” theater. Through the contributions of supporters, we have increased the quality of the art we produce, updated essential lighting and sound equipment, and paid small stipends to our actors for the very first time.

Our supporters have provided convenient access to professional theater education programs for hundreds of young artists in the north metro and have guaranteed that hundreds more young people would have the opportunity to experience the performing arts from the stage and from the audience.

And, most importantly, they have provided a home for tens of thousands of people from all over the region—audience members, artists, and technicians—to create, enjoy, and appreciate the performing arts together as part of a warm, joyful, inclusive community of friends.

These gifts have helped us achieve so much that we can’t help but be excited about the year to come—and we hope you are excited, too.

I feel that Lyric Arts is a second family for every production that I’m in. Everyone is really invested in what your life is about, what you’re going through and how the art we are making there can help you through those tough times and that’s really beautiful.”
— Josh Palmquist, performer

As you know, Lyric Arts is a 501(c)(3) non-profit theater and ticket sales, workshop tuition, and concession sales aren’t enough to cover our annual expenses and keep the doors open. In order to meet our budget goals, we need to turn to supporters just like you to help us fill in the gap.

So, if we had the chance to sit on Santa’s lap, all we would want for Christmas is the $35,000 we need to raise before December 31.

By making a contribution, you will:

  • Increase stipends for artists to equal to what they are paid at other, comparable theaters, helping Lyric Arts attract the “best and brightest” talent on stage and behind the scenes

  • Build essential reserves for the theater to rely on in case of a rainy day

  • Enable us to make badly needed cosmetic updates to the Main Street Stage, in addition to necessary renovations and repairs

  • Allow Lyric Arts to begin to pay the remainder of what is owed on the building, ensuring Lyric Arts has a permanent home on Main Street for years to come

When you donate to Lyric Arts, you are making an investment in protecting our legacy and ensuring our future sustainability.

If you value Lyric Arts, the art you help us create, and the community of friends you help us build, please consider making a tax-deductible contribution by December 31, or consider becoming a sustaining donor for as little as $10 per month.

Your gift—in any amount—is greatly appreciated and terribly important to Lyric Arts’ continued success.

Thank you for your support and your consideration!

Sincerely,
