Lyric Arts’ Artistic & Executive Director Laura Tahja Johnson is thrilled to announce the cast of the area premiere of the musical Bright Star, which will kick off the 2019–2020 season

Leading the cast as Alice Murphy will be Katie Rozanas, a familiar face on the Main Street Stage from productions such as Flavio Betrayed: A Commedia, The Spitfire Grill, Shrek The Musical, Young Frankenstein, and Boeing Boeing.

Nykeigh Larson will also return in the role of Lucy, which will mark her 21st production with Lyric Arts. Nykeigh’s Lyric Arts credits include Guys & Dolls, Flavio Betrayed, Urinetown The Musical, Anatomy of Gray, Young Frankenstein, RENT, Picnic, and Hairspray, among many others.

Other returning cast members include Brendan Veerman (Flavio Betrayed, The Explorer’s Club, Young Frankenstein, and Barefoot in the Park), Robert Zalazar (Evita, You Can’t Take it With You, and The Explorer’s Club), Carl Swanson and Elinor Strandskov (If/Then), Peter Aitchison (Urinetown The Musical and Superior Donuts), Scott Dutton (Hairspray and Pump Boys and Dinettes), and Audrey Johnson (Urinetown The Musical and Silent Sky).

Maureen O’Malley will return to the Main Street Stage after making her debut in this summer’s Legally Blonde The Musical and Dillon Baxendell will make his Lyric Arts acting debut after working as an Assistant Stage Manager in the 2018­–2019 season.

Lyric Arts is also pleased to welcome some new faces to our stage, including Cam Pederson, Maddie Olsem, Lillian Walker, Jan Joseph, Steve Ramirez, Chris Paulson, Margaret Reid, Caitlin Featherstone, Siri Hammond, and Jared Mogen.
