In addition to a cast of 24 incredibly talented human actors, LEGALLY BLONDE THE MUSICAL also required us to find two equally talented four-legged stars. So, we turned to Aimee Mabie of Upstaged Theater Dogs for help.
Upstaged Theater Dogs works in partnership with local rescues to train homeless dogs to perform in live theater settings while helping each animal to find an adoptive family and a forever home.
Thanks to Aimee’s hard work, our casting sessions brought us Cici and Ru.
Cici, who plays “Bruiser,” is a three-year-old Chihuahua who was surrendered to the Humane Society in California and adopted by an elderly woman who has recently gone into hospice care. She is fun and spunky and available for adoption through BARK—Being Advocates for Rescued K-9’s—of Minnesota. (www.barkmn.org)
Ru, who plays “Rufus,” is a seven-year-old Mastiff who was surrendered by a breeder. She is a sweet and cuddly girl who is just learning about the outside world. She is available for adoption through RPAW—Rescued Pets Are Wonderful. (www.rpaw.org)
