Evolution of a Set: Almost, Maine: Final Day: Does this set kind of make you confused? Don't be. Come to see this amazing show and see how this set comes alive! Wonder how we did something? Just ask!
Evolution of a Set: Almost, Maine: Day Ten Evolution of a Set: Almost, Maine: Day Ten: Finishing touches time! The cast and crew have their first real audience tonight! Then everything will need to be completely done and ready. Tech week has been going really well, so this is the final test to see if they need spike tape here or there, or if a bench needs re-painting, etc. Who's got their tickets already?
Evolution of a Set: Almost, Maine: Day Nine Evolution of a Set: Almost, Maine: Day Nine: How cool is this floor? Tech Director Patrick must have work some late hours over the holidays to master this floor! And the lights on the side? Each strand was individually hung and certain lights were taped over to black them out to portray the night sky. Isn't that neat? Speaking of sparkly things...have you heard about our "Northern Lights Diamond Giveaway?" Each person who attends the performance will have the chance to enter a drawing to win a diamond necklace worth $550.00! This promotion is paired with Gould's Diamonds and Jewelry, so check it out!
Evolution of a Set: Almost, Maine: Day Eight Evolution of a Set: Almost, Maine: Day Eight: Today Tech Director Patrick is showing director Bob Neu around the set. The process of designing and building a set is not just "looking in the back of the script and doing what they say." Every professional director has a vision of the show they are producing. They work together with the Tech Director and the whole artistic staff to ensure everything is cohesive and the overall design portrays the picture in the director's head. (pretty deep/neat stuff, huh?)
Evolution of a Set: Almost, Maine: Day Seven: Remember a couple of a days ago when I had guessed that Tech Director Patrick had built waves on the set? But he corrected me and told me they were snow drifts, so my question today was: "Hey Patrick, if they are snow drifts, why paint them blue...blue like waves?" He said it was artistic, and that the lighting design will make it all come together. Silly Patrick...knowing everything...
Evolution of a Set: Almost, Maine: Day Five Evolution of a Set: Almost, Maine: Day Five: Upon entering the theater, a congratulations was offered to Tech Director Patrick on the cool waves he had built on the set. He was quick to correct my guess, and tell me that they were not, in fact, waves...what do you think they are?
Evolution of a Set: Almost, Maine: Day Four: So exactly what Tech Director Patrick seems to be doing with that semi-deflated balloon, no one can be sure. But we can confidently say they both had a good time while it lasted. And now we’re off to celebrate Christmas for the weekend, so we’ll look forward to seeing you on Tuesday next week!
Evolution of a Set: Almost, Maine: Day Three: Today's Evolution of a Set can be classified in the silly category. Can you spot Tech Director Patrick? Hint: He is NOT the person standing on the right side of the photo, but he is in the photo.
First person to respond gets bragging rights!
Evolution of a Set: Almost, Maine: Day Two: Almost, Up! Can you believe how slick this is going? We're getting the feeling that Tech Director Patrick is ready for the holidays and getting it together so he can leave for a couple of days feeling good about where things are at.
What's your favorite part of these photos thus far? Ours: The back of the chairs in sad shape after 12 school day matinees and little boots all over them. Clean up...every aisle.
