For the upcoming Lyric Arts production of Into the Woods, Gabriel Gomez, a Twin Cities freelance scenic and puppet designer, has designed and built several unique, original puppets to help us tell our story. You might have seen Gomez's work last year in Click Clack Moo: Cows That Type, (puppet and co-scenic design) and you'll see his work again for the upcoming Mainly For Kids production of Bunnicula. One of the most exciting aspects of Gomez's design is that not only will he be operating Milky White - traditionally performed as a puppet or prop - but he will also, in conjunction with actor Kyler Chase, be performing as The Wolf. Check out these design sketches and come see how they've evolved from an idea on a page to the stage.
