LYRIC ARTS ANNOUNCES DIRECTORSFOR 2012-2013 SEASON
ANOKA, Minn—Lyric Arts Company of Anoka is thrilled to announce its lineup of directors for the 2012-2013 season. Directors are:
Noises Off–Scott Ford (Resident Director) Dracula–Mark Hauck Annie–Rebecca Rizzio The Further Adventures of Nick Tickle Fairy Tale Detective (Mainly for Kids production)–Laura Bidgood Becky’s New Car–Robert Neu (Resident Director) Hello, Dolly!–Barb Hynes-Tomczyk Death of a Salesman–Robert Neu (Resident Director) How I Became a Pirate (Mainly for Kids production)–Laura Bidgood Barefoot in the Park–Matt McNabb Hairspray– Scott Ford (Resident Director)
In addition to the robust line up of directors, Lyric Arts is also excited to kick-off the Resident Director program for the 2012-2013 season. The program enlists respected theater professionals, Scott Ford and Robert Neu, in helping to shape Lyric Arts’ artistic future as the Anoka-based theater company continues to grow in artistic excellence and evolve as a community of artists.
Scott Ford and Robert Neu will head up the Resident Director program by adding a new dimension to the artistic viability of the organization. As part of a two-year commitment, they will serve as mentors to directors who are new to the organization and provide input to the theater in the areas of artistic vision and direction, as the theater works to build its reputation as an emerging company in the Twin Cities theater community.
Located in the heart of historic downtown Anoka, Lyric Arts Main Street Stage offers a full season of live theater and intimate live music events as part of their “Music in the ‘Burbs” Concert Series. Founded in 1995 and relocated to Anoka’s Main Street in 2001, Lyric Arts’ mission is to build community, inspire audiences, and nurture artists using the transformative power of the performing arts. The 501(c)(3) non-profit theater accomplishes this mission through year-round performances, theater workshops, and education outreach programs.
