"I Am, We Are" Project: Creating Original Theater

Lyric Arts Main Street Stage will be performing an original piece of theater entitled “I Am, We Are” at the Art at Rice Creek Festival this fall and you can help!  This piece is entirely new – created and performed by a small group of volunteer Lyric Arts actors and artists and shaped from words written by community members who were asked to share ideas about themselves – as individuals and as a community.

How can you help create an original theatrical performance?

1)  Tell us about you!

Simply complete any or all of the phrases below leave your answers in the comments section below!

I am... I feel... I want... I pretend... I worry... I wonder...

Here's what some of the people of our community have already shared:

I am...an artist and a musician I feel...that gnomes are real and come to life at night I want...to find a cure for cruelty I pretend...to be a rock star I worry...that people will forget what talking feels like I wonder...about time

2) Volunteer to be a part of the "devising company!"

Would you like to help finalize the script and then perform it? Contact Education Director Cassandra Proball (cassandra@lyricarts.org) and let her know that you want to volunteer.

Devising Work/Rehearsals: September 3–5, 6:30–9:30pm, and September 7, 10:00am–2:00pm, at Lyric Arts Main Street Stage (420 E Main St in Anoka)

Performances: Sunday, September 8, between 11:30am and 1:00pm, at the Art at Rice Creek Festival, being held at Manomin Park (6666 East River Road in Fridley)
