LA: Tell us a little bit about why this particular play interested you?

MW:I just love the book, as a former Pre-K teacher I read it to the kids and they LOVED it, I really wanted to be a part of that, plus I wanted to work with Kris and Laura again!

LA: For those that are unfamiliar with How I Became a Pirate can you tell us about the show?

MW: Jeremy Jacob is a young boy who gets noticed for his digging skills by a pirate crew, they ask him to join their crew and the adventure begins!  They teach each other about the lives they lead and have a lot of pirate fun!

LA: What is your pirate name? How did your character get this pirate name?

MW: My pirate is named Scurvy Dog, and scurvy has an ailment… she barks after everything she says, so the other pirates started calling her Scurvy Dog

LA: Talk about your fellow cast members, how do you see their characters developing? Any that you are particularly amazed at?

MW: All of the pirates are great, but I am particularly amazed by Alec who plays Jeremy Jacob! He is such a pro at such a young age!
