Little Kids workshops offer young children an opportunity let their imaginations come to life in the world of theater! Students will build self-confidence and social skills while learning how to use their creativity and craft skills to tell live stories.
Little Kids learn the meaning of “play” by creating their own modest, unique stage adaptations of children books by authors such as Dr. Seuss, Beatrix Potter, Shel Silverstein, Roald Dahl and others. Whether it's their first time in a theater class or they've been playing characters and singing and dancing all their young life, our workshops offer a safe and fun environment to play as they please!
A Dahl's House: Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
This workshop series focuses on recreating stories by Roald Dahl. Students will learn and strengthen skills of acting on stage with strong voices, bold physical characters, and more live storytelling techniques. Recommended for students that have already taken a workshop but also open for any student wanting to recreate their own imaginative play on the Lyric Arts Stage.
Saturdays, MAR 24 - APR 28 from 9 am - Noon
Dr. Seuss Station
Did you ever wonder how the Lorax zimmers with sneedles, or how the Sneetches love to wear the wuzzers with kleekles? Would you like to ask the Cat in the Hat what's a gnat doing on the back of a bat? Dr. Seuss Station teaches students the fun of words with imaginary characters. Little Kids will have fun acting like silly characters from a Dr. Seuss story while focusing on theater fundamentals of clear speaking and character creation.
Thursdays, MAR 29 - MAY 3 from 4:45 pm - 6:15 pm
COST: $75 - FULL
