Get ready to “cut loose” as Lyric Arts presents this musical stage version of this beloved 1984 foot-tapping film in which the music-loving city clicker Ren McCormack finds himself having trouble adjusting to his new life in small-town Texas. Ren is thrust into the spotlight as a debate ensues over the town’s laws prohibiting music and dancing.
Set against the backdrop of a bubbly beat circa 1980′s, Ren and his classmates grapple with issues of following one’s heart, questioning society, and claiming independence. So, put on those dancin’ shoes and get ready for some footloose and fancy-free fun.
Mature audiences, ages 13 and older. Due to the full-length nature of the show, children younger than five cannot be admitted.
Tickets range from $10 to $25. Please visit the Pricing and Seating section of our website for further information.
