About Storyhill
Chris Cunningham and John Hermanson began their music and friendship together while living in Montana as teenagers in 1989. After years of performing with colleges around the country, the pair split to pursue other dreams. To fans delights, they reunited in 2003 and signed to Red House Records and continued to produce their strong melodic songs.
In 2007, the release of the album Storyhill won the duo Best CD of the Year by the Indie Acoustic Project.
The pair continue to pursue separate lives in Montana and Minnesota. Chris produces recordings at Basecamp Recordings in Montana while John works as a producer in Minneapolis while continuing to play with other musicians. They also are hosting two festivals where they will share their talents with many other musicians from across the country.
Storyhill lives on and continues to amaze fans with their simple acoustic arrangement paired with impeccable storytelling. The songs tell about love, war, and other sorrows of life.
About Ben Bullington
Montana based singer/songwriter Ben Bullington is a thoughtful, nuanced songwriter that has been featured on more than 70 radio stations in the US and Europe.
And this from Rich Warren in Sing Out! “He captures the essence of farmers, drifters, drivers and just plain working folks better than any songwriter I’ve heard in many a year, and he does so with poetic skill. He tells a narrative of the America most of us miss or only see in the rear view mirror. I won’t take responsibility if you listen to this superb CD in the car and end up sitting in the driveway until it ends. It’s a very special recording.”
His duet with Nashville songwriting legend Rodney Crowell “Toe the Line” made many “Best Of’ lists in 2009. “Satisfaction Garage”, Ben’s new CD, is scheduled for a late summer release and will once again feature Rodney Crowell as well as special guests Fats Kaplin, Will Kimbrough, George Bradfute, Joanne Gardner, Kenny Malone, Dave Jacques and Mike Dysinger. If you haven’t heard this compelling performer, check him out. Still a practicing doctor in Big Timber, Montana, Ben writes thoughtful, intelligent and very memorable songs.
Rodney Crowell says, “In the same way Guy Clark’s jeweler’s vision captures the eloquent essence of Texas culture without being regional, Ben frames the stillness of Montana winters, the strength of her women and the spiritual bankruptcy of no-account politicians with disarming ease.”
“Plus,” Crowell adds, “the guy’s a pretty damn good doctor for a songwriter.”
