School Day Matinees
Since 1999, Lyric Arts Company has provided high-quality theatrical experiences for school groups with School Day Matinee performances of our “Mainly for Kids” productions. These selections are specifically designed to entertain students while introducing them to the performing arts and classic storytelling.
School Day Matinees are made available to school groups (including home school and daycare groups) of 10 or more students at the special price of $8 per ticket. Plus, teachers receive one free ticket with every 12 student tickets reserved. Tickets may be paid for or invoiced once a final count is given on the day of the performance. Invoices are not available for home school or daycare groups.
Bookings are available until two weeks prior to the first School Day Matinee performance of the production.

Coney Island Christmas
By Donald Margulies
This area premiere, described as an “incredible enchantment” by the L.A. Times, introduces us to Shirley Abramowitz, a young Jewish girl who, much to her immigrant parents’ exasperation, is cast as Jesus in the school’s Christmas pageant. As Shirley, now much older, recounts the memorable story to her great-granddaughter, the play captures a timeless and universal tale of what it means to be an American during the holiday season. Pulitzer Prize winner Donald Margulies weaves together nostalgia, music, and merriment in this new seasonal classic for people of all ages and all faiths.
