Throughout the musical, there is an overarching struggle for power, which manifests itself as political intrigue, coups, protests, and revolutions.
The lyrics of Evita contain references to failed love affairs and sexual relationships. Eva begins her relationship with Juan as his mistress (which has multiple onstage kisses) before they decide to marry.
Drinking, Drugs, and Smoking
Wine, cocktails, and bars are mentioned, but there is no drinking, smoking, or drug use in this show.
