There are no instances of physical violence onstage. However, it is mentioned at the start of the show that the Plaids were killed in a bus accident. In addition, Jinx suffers from occasional nosebleeds.
There are no direct references to sex, but many of the songs in the show are romantic in nature. During one song, the microphone gets tangled and ends up resting on the groin of one of the Plaids. It is also implied (in only a single mention) that Uncle Chester (Upright Bass) is in a relationship with Sparky's mother.
