Audition Prep Night for Kids and Families

Ever wondered what it might be like to play and perform together?  Come practice important audition skills as a family! The night begins with a 30-minute Q&A session for parents and children with our Education Director, Cassandra Proball, who will answer questions about all of the in’s and out’s of the Lyric Arts audition process for both youth and adults. Then we’ll break into two groups (by young actor age) to play theater games and exercises designed to teach creativity and confidence.  Young actors and parents will learn how to work together to make the big choices that get noticed and how to read “cold” with volume and expression.

Even if you’ve never considered auditioning yourself, this is a great workshop for you to take with the young actor in your family.  You’ll learn more about what directors are looking for and how to help your child turn the problems that often come with auditions (like anxiety and disappointment) into excitement and opportunity.

Next Workshop:  July 29th, 2015
Time: 7:00pm to 9:00pm
All young actor ages welcome!
Location:  Lyric Arts Main Street Stage, 420 E. Main St., Anoka
Instructor:  Cassandra Cutler Proball
Cost:  $25 per student/parent pair
