Bring the magic of Lyric Arts to your school!

Lyric Arts Main Street Stage is a big city theater with home town charm.  And that is exactly what our Education Programs are; theater professionals sharing their experience and expertise in a warm, caring fashion.

Lyric Arts has offered Theatrical Workshops for all ages at our beautiful theater on Main Street in Anoka for years.  Now we want to bring these high energy, exciting learning opportunities to your school.  We have a program to fit your needs all at a cost that is easy on family budgets.

Program Length:

Choose a 4, 6 or 8 week class.  We’ll come to your school once per week to conduct a 1-hour workshop and help your students prepare for a final presentation for family and friends on the last day of class.

Programs for grades K-2:

  1. Fractured Fairy Tales:  Imagine all of your favorite fairy tale characters mixed up to create a crazy new story for the stage.  That is what you can expect in this fun, silly theater workshop!  Students will explore creating characters with voice and body as well as basic acting techniques in preparation to perform a fun fractured fairy tale presentation for family and friends on the final class date.
  2. Pirates and Princesses:  Do you like to pretend?  Do you love make believe?  Then this workshop is for you!  Join us as we create a fantasy world full of princesses, pirates and mythical characters.  Through games and acting activities, students will learn the basics of theater, culminating in a high energy presentation for family and friends on the final class date.
  3. Amazing Animals:  What if animals could talk?  Be part of this fun workshop and create a world of animals for the stage.  Animal stories, animal games and animal fun is what this workshop is all about.  Students will perform a final Amazing Animals presentation for family and friends on the final class date.

Programs for grades 3 – 6:

  1. Wonderful Wizards:   Magic wands, potions and spells combine to create exciting wizard stage fun!  Students will explore acting through theater games and build their own wizard characters to share with family and friends in a final class presentation.
