Meet Our Instructors
Andrea
Alioto
Andrea
Alioto moved to Minneapolis upon graduation in May 2005 from Emerson
College in Boston with a BFA in Musical Theatre. Andrea was last seen
playing "Candy" in Minneapolis Musical Theatre's production of Zombie
Prom. For the past year she has also been working at the
Plymouth Playhouse in their production of Church Basement Ladies, (Signe,
understudy). Since choreographing Lyric Arts' productions of
Copacabana and The Sleeping Beauty in 2007, Andrea is looking
forward to
choreographing this summer's The Boy Friend on the Main Street Stage.
Kym
Chambers

Kym Chambers just arrived from New York where she has
been working as a professional actor for the past eight years. Kym has
toured with the Broadway shows Cats, The Wizard of Oz, and
Cinderella. She has also worked at many prestigious regional theaters
across the country including North Shore Music Theater, Kansas City
Starlight, Atlanta Theater of the Stars, and Casa Manana. Kym hold a Masters
Degree from New York University in Musical Theater Vocal Performance and a
BA from St. Olaf
College in Speech/Theater
Secondary Education.
Carole
Conama
For
the past fourteen years, Carole has been teaching dance classes to adults
and children throughout the Anoka area. Prior to moving to California in
the early 1980's, Carole was privileged to study dance with two of the great
dance instructors of the Twin Cities, Loyce Houlton and Nancy Hauser. Her
passions are musical theater and tap dancing. Carole studied tap with Char
Weiss for 8 years and will continue tapping with Keane Sense of Rhythm this
fall.
Carole has occasionally
performed at the Fishing Widows Cabaret as well as participated in
and performed in National TAP Dance Day celebrations over the past
decade. Her students have won several local dance and pageant competitions.
Along with being an on-call substitute Special Education Para-Professional
for District 11, Carole is a full-time student, wife of twenty-two years, and
mother of a teenage daughter.
Sara
Feinberg
Sara
has performed in many theaters throughout the Twin Cities, including Theatre
de la Jeune Lune, North Star Opera, The Gilbert and Sullivan Very Light
Opera Company, and the Bloomington Civic Theatre. Sara holds a Bachelor of
Music in Voice with a Minor in Theater from Ithaca College. Currently she
directs plays for the Adath Jeshuran Congregation, and teaches performing
arts classes at Stages Theatre Company, Youth Performance Company, and Lyric
Arts Main Street Stage.
Sarah Kathryn Hawkins
Sarah,
a native of Indiana, has spent the last
year touring the upper Midwest with CLIMB Theatre's Teaching Company. She
has a B.A. in Theatre from Gustavus Adolphus College and has studied at the
London Dramatic Academy and UCLA Film School. Some of her most recent Twin
Cities productions include
All My Sons
at Lakeshore Players,
You Can't Take It With You
at Bloomington Arts Center; and
Mysterious Bruises,
which premiered at the
2006 Minnesota Fringe Festival. She is excited
to be joining the community at Lyric Arts!
Anya
Kremenetsky
Anya
Kremenetsky is a graduate of the George Washington University in D.C., where
she studied psychology and was involved in numerous theater productions as
actor and director. Since then, she has spent a year at the professional
acting conservatory of the Atlantic Theater Company in New York City. She
has also appeared on the Main Street Stage as Tzeitel in Fiddler on the
Roof and as Conchita in this summer's Copacabana.
The theater
is Anya's passion! She is thrilled to have directed Lyric Art's recent
production of The Best Haunted House Ever, and to have the
opportunity to share the magic of the theater with her students.
Kristine Kvanli
For
the past four years Kristine has been teaching improvisation to adults and
children throughout the Minneapolis Metro area. Along with being a teacher,
Kristine is a professional actor, having been seen in the cast of Tony n
Tina's Wedding, Flanagan's Wake, Brave New Workshop Mainstage,
and is currently in her third production with The Mystery Café’s completely
improvised murder mystery entitled Who's Crime is it Anyway.
Mark
D. Lakowske
Mark
is an award-winning actor, clown, designer, director and teacher. A few
favorite roles include Harpagon in The Miser, Father Drobney in
Don’t Drink the Water, Creone in Antigone and Peter Quince in
A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Mark has acted and designed costuming and
make-up for Upstage Review Drama Company and has performed at and been the
Royal Court Tailor for The Minnesota Renaissance Festival.
He has also costumed for PBS’s documentary
The War That Made America, Viterbo University, Walt Disney World
Florida, and Lyric Arts Company of Anoka.
Christine Karki
Christine is delighted to be teaching with Lyric Arts! A
professional actor in the Twin Cities for over 10 years, Chris has had the
pleasure of performing with Hey City Theater (Tony n Tina’s Wedding),
Park Square Theatre (Side Show), The Great American History Theatre (The
Christmas Schooner, Summer in the Shadows), Troupe America (A
Christmas Carol- nat’l tour), Commonweal Theatre Company (Zombies
from the Beyond), St. Croix Festival Theatre (Little Shop of Horrors,
Lucky Stiff),
Minnesota Festival Theater (Crimes of the Heart),
Front Porch Theatre (Seussical: The Musical), Ensemble Productions (The
Eight: Reindeer Monologues) and Minneapolis Musical Theatre (Bat Boy:
The Musical, Applause, The Who’s Tommy, Zombie Prom, Jerry Springer: The
Opera).
Chris is a graduate of Gustavus Adolphus College with a
degree in English and theater arts and a teaching license in both subjects.
She’s taught with StageCoach Theatre Arts and seven seasons with St. Paul
Academy’s Artward Bound program. She’s also worked as the Education
Coordinator for the Sabes Jewish Community Center and as the Curriculum
Manager with the Guthrie Theater. Chris is thrilled to make her Lyric Arts
directing debut this summer with The Boy Friend!
France Roberts
A
first grade teacher in the Wayzata school district, France has performed in
theaters around the Twin Cities area and has played Bilbo Baggins in The
Hobbit, Judah in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat,
Tom Robinson in To Kill A Mockingbird, Emerald City Guard in The
Wizard of Oz, and a Russian in Fiddler on the Roof all at Lyric
Arts Main Street Stage. He has taught workshops at Lyric Arts since
2005 and enjoys working with budding performers.
Deborah
Schee
Deborah
holds a Master’s degree in Education and works in the field of Training &
Development. She combines her experience in the field of adult education
with her thirty years of community theater experience to create a fun,
engaging atmosphere for adults who want to “give theater a try.” Deborah
has performed at many theaters in the Twin Cities including; Off Broadway
Musical Theater, CROSS Community Players, Plymouth Community Theater, Morris
Park, Stages Theater Company, The Eden Prairie
Players, The Collings Theater and, of course, Lyric Arts Main
Street Stage. Deborah’s most recent performance at Lyric Arts was as Dolly Tate in
Lyric Arts' 2007 production Annie Get Your Gun.
